2021 NCKU International Conference on Taiwan Study: TAINAN, the Sea-Faring Harbor City

To deepen the research on Taiwan Study and to celebrate the 90th anniversary of the establishment of NCKU, as well as welcoming the upcoming event of the 400th anniversary of the establishment of Zeelandia, 2024, the College of Liberal Arts plans to hold an international academic conference on Taiwan Study entitled <<TAINAN: the Sea-faring Harbor City>> on November 26-27, 2021 (Friday & Saturday). It aims to trace back to and explore the formation and development of relationships NCKU has, respectively, with Tainan, Taiwan, and the world. Through the interactions among the attending scholars and experts, we hope the southern perspectives of Taiwan Study can be gradually solidified.  

 

The five themes we plan to cover in this conference: 

I. The Dancing Island: Taiwan and the Oceans

II. Returning to the Original History and Modernity

III. Dynamic Taiwan: Power Age

IV. Humanistic Heart・Spirit of Phoenix: Local Literature and Journey of History

V. Flourishing Melon Vine: Root-taking and Heritage of Cultural Assets

 

Conference Date / Time: November 26-27, 2021 (Friday & Saturday)

Conference Venue: The Academic Speech Hall, College of Liberal Arts, National Cheng Kung University (Room 21122, on the 1st floor of the Department Building of Chinese Literature)

 

P.S. The conference will be held online and offline concurrently.
