Publication

After its first issue in 1992, the journal was published biannually from 2005. From 2007, the journal becomes a quarterly issue. The journal was ranked number 10 among other academic journals in the country in 2006 by the National Science Council. It is now included in Taiwan Humanities Citation Index(THCI) database.

The Department of Chinese Literature was founded in 1956, and added an evening division in 1967. The History & philology Graduate Institute was founded with the Chinese Literature Section planned and given lessons by this Department and the Section of History in 1985. This Department was added an M.A. program in 1991, and a Ph.D. program in 1995. The evening session of Chinese Department was then redesigned and open to the students at night.In 2001, M.A. program of evening session was established for students who weren’t able to attend the courses during daytime.

The Religion and Culture Workshop was founded in 1994 by the Department of Chinese Literature. It is established to promote religion and culture studies in Taiwan as well as to encourage the interaction of scholars in the country. The journal was first issued in 2001.
