Seminar Overview

Period: August 4 (Monday) - August 9 (Saturday), 2025
Eligibility: Undergraduate and graduate students from partner universities
Capacity: 20 students per course (first-come, first-served basis)
Participation Fee: The seminar participation is free of charge. 

However, participants must pay approximately 80,000 JPY for accommodation during the seminar period. 

This payment should be made via online bank transfer to the designated travel agency's account. 

Additionally, participants will need to pay for activity expenses (admission fees, tea ceremony participation fees, etc.) on-site, which will cost up to approximately 10,000 JPY in total. 

Airfare, meals, and other personal expenses are not included and must be covered by participants.

Program Content

We offer two courses based on Japanese language proficiency levels.

Common Program Elements

• Japanese Language Classes (by level)
• Lectures on Kyoto Studies (delivered in English)
• Tutorials (small group learning support)
• Cultural Experiences (Kyoto International Manga Museum visit, traditional Japanese dance experience, formal tea ceremony)

Schedule

1st Period: 8:50 - 10:20
2nd Period: 10:30 - 12:00
3rd Period: 12:50 - 14:20
4th Period: 14:30 - 16:00

• Type 1: For beginner Japanese language learners
• Type 2: For intermediate and advanced Japanese language learners

2. Application Deadline: Friday April 25, 2025
3. Selection results will be communicated to your university coordinator by May 16, 2025.
