College of Liberal Arts Headquarters
The headquarters of the College of Liberal Arts is located on the 7th floor of the Xiuqi Building. The building also houses the Department of Foreign Languages and Literature, the Chinese Language Center, the Foreign Language Center, Center for Taiwanese Languages Testing (CTLT), the Center for Multicultural Studies, and the Taiwanese Language Proficiency Testing Center.
We would also like to express our gratitude to Chairman Wu Hsiu-Chi, who generously donated this building to the College of Liberal Arts in 2001. We hope everyone enjoys a rewarding and pleasant learning experience here.
Message from Chairman Wu Hsiu-Chi
“Throughout my life, I have always felt that people have treated me with great kindness. At critical moments, I was often fortunate to receive help from benefactors, which filled my life with happiness and joy. Because of this, I have always carried a heart full of gratitude and hoped to do more things that would benefit the nation and society.
From establishing scholarships for outstanding students from financially disadvantaged backgrounds, to funding the construction of pedestrian overpasses on school campuses and donating libraries, I have always maintained a deep and enduring passion for education.
The outstanding performance of National Cheng Kung University graduates over the years in affiliated enterprises such as Tainan Spinning, Uni-President, and Prince Housing & Development has always left me deeply appreciative. As a small expression of my gratitude and desire to give back, I decided to donate this building. I sincerely hope that, after its completion, it will contribute to a better campus environment and help nurture talented individuals for the future.”
